Silence in a mad world

The majority of my waking life has been spent in silence. While others need to be reminded to turn off their entertainment and set aside time for silent reflection, that is how I spend most of my day. One could call it meditation.

I grew up in a pindrop silent home. The only child in the house, I was rarely granted cartoons or entertainment. We moved too often to make many friends. I grew accustom to wander8ng off in my thoughts.

As an adult now, I often work from home, by myself, in silence. Some people tell me they would go crazy if they had to sit in silence for more than 5 minutes. After a lifetime of it, this seems wild to me.

They say boredom are where great ideas are born. While I never consider myself to be bored, I am also never short of new and unique ideas. It is a mad world out there, raucous and full of unessecary babbling about nothing real or new.

I have always said, "there is too much input in this workd, not enough output."

We were made in the image of our creator. We are creators. We were not put here to be consumers of inane streaming nonsense. I write, I paint, I draw, I plan ,I expirement, I make music, I invent, I heal, I cook and many many other things.

If you feel like your life is void or lacking purpose, and you are waiting for something to come along and fill it, you will be waiting a long time. Maybe the answer is not to fill it but to build it. To fill that empty void and lack of purpose with the creations of your own mind.

What could ever be created if the canvas is already full. If the noise, people and entertainment are constantly filling your mind, there is no room for creation to occur. You need an empty canvas. A blank slate.

Sit in silence until your mind quiets and watch what amazing things your mind invents to fill that void. Then go create it!
