You're doing it wrong.

I have always felt as if someone forgot to include the manual when I was made.


I try to watch and see what everyone else is doing. But, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. 


I have finally come to the conclusion: No one knows what the hell they are doing.


Can you tell me for sure, why you are here? Why you are doing what you are doing? 


Yes, we can come up with some superficial answers- but frankly, we are all going to die and everything you have done will be forgotten. Erased by time. 


Meaningless. A chasing after the wind. -Ecclesiastes  


But we are here nonetheless and no one wants to look weird, or stupid, as if they don't know what they're doing. 


We create roles and rules (that's the manual I mentioned never getting) so we can live with some direction and purpose. We try to nail it and be the best at it.


All the while looking around to see what everyone else is doing to make sure we have it right.


According to who? Who says they have it right? Because it has always been done that way? That is rarely the answer to getting something right. History has proven that much.


So don't worry so much if you're doing things the right way. You're not, because there isn't one way.

Don't worry so much about your accomplishments. They are trophies hung on a wall scheduled for demolishment. 

Be bold. Do things differently. Live life your way. Reinvent the wheel if you want to and make it better, or don't and just have fun reinventing it.

Enjoy your daily toil all the days of your meaningless life under the meaningless sun. -Ecclesiastes

Turn your head now baby Just Spit Me Out

Feeling underappreciated and saddened at how it is possible to pour your heart out, give your time and all you have to give to another person and have them spit in your face. I had the epiphany that this is how God must feel when his children sin. He pours his unending love out for us, he gives of all he is For Us and we spit in the face of the almighty and go about doing contradictory and counterproductive things- and he keeps loving us all the same.  I will continue to feel unappreciated and taken from, as long as I continue to take for granted the blessings in my life. Once I learn to give back to God in appreciation and gratitude, the same way I would give back to anyone who would go out of their way for me- then I will know what being loved is meant to feel like.

Dancing With Kings

My bare feet situated in the dirt, pebbles and pine needles strobing heat in red and orange waves, hugs my skin The wind playing in my hair like a cat with soft new yarn The timelessness of this scene stretching beyond history's time. Peacefully content and warm, those I love, sleep near nothing lacking, nothing needed, we have been provided for And as I voice my praise, in gratitude of God's mercy My sights are directed to the towering Kings of this forest. Silence. Utter silence as if the world were put on mute, my gaze transfixed on these massive statues, and I see. The wind, I know to be as one animal, melting into their stone they danced in silent magnitude against the glowing night sky. We've made this trip so many times around, it makes me dizzy.This beautiful, tragic, spinning kaleidoscope I've seen. Through your eyes, deep, in ancient times until the new, It was always you. Through the black holes of the windows to my soul. Something has started, you must be feeling this too! The tune has changed, we danced so long but now we sing.
