Consistent Parenting

They say what children need most is consistency.
Truly, it's easy. I can always count on them to create:
Laundry; always piling up. Then I just add more,
as I consistently refill their bottomless drawer.
Dishes; constantly they make. But, really,
I'm to blame, for consistently filling their plate.
Clutter; constantly in the way, but, alas I am the one
who consistently encouraged them to play.
Arguments; constantly they've something to say,
consistently I listen to them, though I don't debate.
Interruptions; constantly they come to me, and
when in need of hugs, consistently I'll be free.
Constantly daunted by this task of raising three
whole people, who are learning how to one day,
live without me. Consistent Parenting will show,
in their confidence and kindness. While their happy
smiles make it  all worthwhile, helping my babies grow.

We've made this trip so many times around, it makes me dizzy.This beautiful, tragic, spinning kaleidoscope I've seen. Through your eyes, deep, in ancient times until the new, It was always you. Through the black holes of the windows to my soul. Something has started, you must be feeling this too! The tune has changed, we danced so long but now we sing. All the songs on the radio are beginning to sound the same. The people I talk to and the signs I see are making a strong impression on me. Larger than I could have ever believed. Turn your head now baby Just Spit Me Out

Feeling underappreciated and saddened at how it is possible to pour your heart out, give your time and all you have to give to another person and have them spit in your face. I had the epiphany that this is how God must feel when his children sin. He pours his unending love out for us, he gives of all he is For Us and we spit in the face of the almighty and go about doing contradictory and counterproductive things- and he keeps loving us all the same.  I will continue to feel unappreciated and taken from, as long as I continue to take for granted the blessings in my life. Once I learn to give back to God in appreciation and gratitude, the same way I would give back to anyone who would go out of their way for me- then I will know what being loved is meant to feel like.

Dancing With Kings

My bare feet situated in the dirt, pebbles and pine needles strobing heat in red and orange waves, hugs my skin The wind playing in my hair like a cat with soft new yarn The timelessness of this scene stretching beyond history's time. Peacefully content and warm, those I love, sleep near nothing lacking, nothing needed, we have been provided for And as I voice my praise, in gratitude of God's mercy My sights are directed to the towering Kings of this forest. Silence. Utter silence as if the world were put on mute, my gaze transfixed on these massive statues, and I see. The wind, I know to be as one animal, melting into their stone they danced in silent magnitude against the glowing night sky. My mouth opened to no words which could justify I could only smile deeply and feel the sudden hot rain I laughed and my heart danced with those Kings, in the oneness of the wind, which has became my breathe.
